WATER TREATMENT PLANTS, STORAGE FACILITIES AND DISTRIBUTION NETWORK

  • CAPACITY EXPANSION OF KOFORIDUA WATER PROJECT

    The project comprises the construction of a new plant drawing raw water from the Volta Lake to augment production from the existing one constructed in 1938, whose capacity is inadequate for the industries springing up in the metropolis and surrounding catchments. The estimated population of this catchment is estimated to grow to 280,000 by 2025.

    1. Phase I- Raw Water Intake Facilities & New Treatment Plant
    2. Phase II- Transport & Distribution Network including Booster Station & Reservoirs
    3. Phase III-Tafo Water Supply System

    In addition new pipelines and reinstatement of old ones would be undertaken to dramatically improve distribution.

  • ESSAKYIR WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM

    The project consists of the construction of a new water treatment plant, transport and distribution pipelines. The project comprises the construction of a raw water impoundment and intake, conventional water treatment plant with a capacity of 12,000m3/day and the installation of 38km of water transmission pipelines, rehabilitation and improvement of 15km of distribution pipelines, and the construction and rehabilitation of reservoirs. The project has a design horizon of 2030 and it captures a population of 183,000 people in more than thirty (30) communities in the Central Region of the Republic of Ghana.

  • CAPE COAST WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM (CCWSP)

    The project consists in the expansion of the transmission capacity of Sekyere Heman Water Treatment Plant. Its purpose is to improve the distribution of water throughout the supply area. Cape Coast will on project completion benefit by receiving drinking water from Sekyere Heman WTP via a newly constructed Brimsu Water Treatment Plant. Transmission and Distribution Network would be extended to improve Water Supply to Cape Coast Municipalities and its environs. Also treated water would be supply KEEA area all in the Central Region of the Republic of Ghana.

  • KWANYAKU DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANT: ADDENDUM 4 KASOA INTERCONNECTION PROJECT

    The 12.23 million project is an addendum to the Kwanyaku Water Treatment Plant and comprises the installation of 42.4km of water transmission pipelines, installation of 27km of distribution pipelines, and reinstatement of reservoirs at Ojobi and Senya Bereku and the construction of a new reservoir at Buduburam.

  • REHABILTATION AND EXPANSION OF KWANYAKU DRINKING WATER PROJECT

    The 29.8 million water project comprised the construction of a parallel plant to the existing one constructed in 1965 to augment the production and distribution of potable water within the 7 Local Government Administrative Districts of the Central Region of Ghana served by the plant.

    The Project which commenced in May 2005 earmarked for completion in December 2008 was completed in June 2008 six (6) months earlier. It includes the:-

    The Project which commenced in July 2007 is earmarked for completion in December 2009 includes the:-

    Phase III-Tafo Water Supply System

    In addition new pipelines and reinstatement of old ones would be undertaken to dramatically improve distribution.
